Chiropractic Adjustments Effingham, IL

Chiropractic Adjustments

A chiropractic adjustment can make you feel so much better. Your body does not want to be out of alignment, and that’s exactly what an adjustment can help address. It is also known as chiropractic manipulation, manual manipulation, or spinal manipulation. The adjustment refers to the manipulation of the vertebrae that have abnormal movements and are not functioning properly. A chiropractic adjustment will assist in fixing these issues.

The goal of chiropractic treatment is to reduce the subluxation, increase the range of motion, reduce nerve irritability, and improve mobility. Our compassionate and qualified chiropractor will work with you to relieve this pain and get you back to being pain free every single day.

A chiropractic adjustment involves high velocity thrusts applied to the vertebra, relieving sensation, discomfort, and spasms in the surrounding muscles. It also releases joint cavitation, which is caused by the release of oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon dioxide.

Although many people visit their chiropractor and have an adjustment when something feels out of alignment, a regular visit will help you avoid any pain in the future and will keep your body feeling great all day long.

If you are having one of those days when you are not in the best mood, an adjustment may actually help. Your body will feel much better, which will naturally improve your mood.

Corrective Exercises

Corrective exercises are the use of bodily movements and/or postures to restore desirable changes in diseased or injured tissues. The corrective exercises are movement strategies that minimize or eliminate compensation. Corrective exercises should precede more integrated exercises, because they can cue the patient’s motor system to respond in a more desirable way and assist in removing or improving biomechanical constraints.

X-Rays Effingham, IL

Digital X-Rays

One of the most important elements of chiropractic care is diagnostics. Chiropractic radiology is a tool utilized in care as a diagnostic practice to rule out pathology (such as possible tumor or fracture) and/or an additional aid to determine where to adjust the spine. Chiropractors rely on a variety of diagnostic techniques in order to fully understand what is occurring in the patient’s musculoskeletal system, and how a given treatment intervention could bring about positive results in each patient.

Laser Foot Scan

The laser foot scan is designed to measure the proper length and width of the foot. It also laser measures the proper location and height of the medial, lateral and metatarsal arch supports. Using this scan in conjunction with the lumbar spine x-ray can help to determine if a patient needs a lift added to the arch support to balance a leg length deficiency. Our foot scan is performed without shoes or socks to get the most accurate measurements unlike others at the discount superstore

Class IV Laser treatment

Our office uses a Class IV laser from Summus. We use this laser to help patients heal faster by increasing Oxygen to the deeper tissues than we were able to get with an Ultrasound machine. We also use the Laser as part of our Peripheral Neuropathy program to restore better function and healing as noted below.

Pain Patterns: The Summus Class IV laser has been used to treat neck injuries from motor vehicle accidents, ear infections, migraine headaches, sinus infections, bursitis, rotator cuff strains and tears. The laser is also used to treat carpel tunnel syndrome, trigger fingers, golfer’s and tennis elbow, sciatic pain, disc degeneration, ACL/PCL injuries, baker’s cysts, Osgood Schlatter’s, Post knee-replacement, arthritis, heel pain, plantar fascitis.

Peripheral Neuropathy: Are you experiencing pain, numbness, burning, tingling or loss of feeling because of Neuropathy? 42.5 million Americans suffer yearly. It’s not uncommon for some to entirely loss the feeling in their feet and hands, frequently fall because of the loss of sensation, suffer debilitating pain that limits their enjoyment of life. The laser increases oxygen, draws in nutrients to the area, reduces inflammation, swelling, muscle spasms, stiffness and pain.
